Flat racing begins to take centre stage with the traditional curtain-raiser at Doncaster Racecourse, while across Ireland and internationally, early-season opportunities begin to emerge. At the same time, the jumps code continues in the background, offering races that can favour fresh horses over those coming off hard efforts in recent weeks.
